I took this shot early one morning in October 2008, after watching the sun rise over Mount Fuji. Sat with my tea miles above Tokyo's frenetic streets, I was almost too high to see the cars moving. I remember how it tasted, in it's quiet little cup with a wooden saucer.
London hasn't got up to speed in 2012. The tube is still half empty and offices have yet to fill out with people returning from their Christmas holiday. It would be nice if it stayed like this but soon things will be back to normal and we'll probably forget all about the quiet.

Such lovely blue slide film tones.
Happy new year, dear C-. Lets hope its a quiet yet eventful one :-)
I like this idea of keeping things quiet. gives me space to think.
Happy New Year Charlotte :)
Happy 2012 Charlotte. It's still quiet in Edinburgh, the 3rd was a holiday here so I think a lot of people just took the rest of the week off, I sort of wish I had but I think I'll be glad of those 3 days of holiday later in the year. For now though the sun is shining, I think for the first time this year, and I'm feeling optimistic about what's to come. xo
Love your blog, so intimate :)
Quiet moments are such rare treasures. Happy 2012!
Happy 2012 Charlotte.
Beautiful blue still scene. I went back to work on the 3rd and it's just starting to feel busy again now isn't it.
It felt a bit of a shame to go back so early in fact.
But the weekends are lovely. This is the best time of year on the Heath when it's so cold and devoid of people.
That quiet window at the start of the year is a favourite time of mine. The city is quiet. The night is quiet. And I can get much of my own work done. This, yes, this is bliss.
Happy days to you, be they quiet or a little louder,
g xo
