This view of Boulevard St Germain on the Rive Gauche Rehab blog reminded me of a trip to France in October 2009, and this garret view of Le Touquet from a tiny hotel room.
It was unseasonably cold that week and our ears froze when we walked on the beach in icy winds, so we retreated indoors and played endless rounds of trivial pursuit on an iPhone and picnicked on bread, cheese, charcuterie and red wine.
