It's time to start thinking about pubs with open fires. This one involves a journey down the A3 and some perilous off-roading down a very steep track. Just when you think it will end in a ditch it arrives at the Duke of Cumberland Arms in the tiny village of Henley, near Midhurst in West Sussex. It is pretty much the perfect pub, although that theory is always open for review.

It is pretty perfect. I'm going to be down for a weekend in December, hoping to at least make it there for a quiet pint with my parents...
